MIA LAREN

Mia Laren (born May 1, 1992, Baltimore, Maryland) is an American singer, songwriter, music producer, and professional dancer. She is recognized for her blend of pop, dance-pop, Latin, and reggaeton influences, and her work often explores themes of self-discovery and empowerment. Based in San Diego, California, Laren integrates her background in public health into her creative projects, using music and movement as tools for social impact.

Early Life and Education

Laren was raised in Baltimore, Maryland, in a musically inclined family. Her father’s career as a musician influenced her early interest in the arts. She participated in the Peabody Choir during her youth and performed in school productions, including a lead role in Bye Bye Birdie.

Laren attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. She later pursued a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on social marketing and health advocacy. In addition to her formal education, she became a certified personal trainer and a Reiki practitioner, expanding her expertise in wellness and movement.

Laren began her professional journey as a dancer, performing and teaching for over two decades. Her experiences in dance influenced her transition into music production and songwriting. At the age of 27, she began creating music using GarageBand, despite having no formal training in production. This marked the start of her career as a music producer and vocalist.
